Being Live Directed Ready
Preparing to be live directed: what to expect and making a good impression
Service Description
This is something I'm asked a lot by newer voice actors: "How am I supposed to act in a live directed session?" ...and I absolutely get it, I've been there, stumbling into my first live directed session as a nervous wreck of a human. But there's one thing I've learned, is that it's never as bad as the nerves lead you to believe before the session. But what DO you do? How do you talk to the client / director / audio tech? How early do you arrive? What do you need to prepare beforehand? How do I make sure I don't break some major unspoken rule? What happens if I mess up a line? ...and so on. What we'll go over is: - A run down of a normal live directed session timeline - Leaving that ego or nervousness at the door - Being directable - Keeping calm when messing up a line - Knowing what to expect from the client / voice director - General etiquette - Online live sessions vs in studio - Making a good impression - Possibly some very related side tangents :) This session is available to attend live on zoom, recorded, or both! Everyone who signs up will receive a recorded and transcribed copy once it has processed. Usually a few hours after the session. So if you have to dip out, you won't miss a thing!
